Hi, I'm Jack Marshall — founder of The Change Tutor. I’ve been a teacher for just over ten years, specialising in Geography and English, and working closely with young people both in and beyond the classroom.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed strong pastoral skills, supporting students through a wide range of personal challenges. Whether it’s helping a young person manage anxiety around exams, navigate friendship issues, or build confidence after setbacks, I’ve always found deep purpose in being a steady, compassionate presence in their lives.
My favourite aspects of teaching have always been twofold: the joy of educating young minds, and the privilege of supporting them as they grow. It’s this combination that inspired me to create The Change Tutor — a space where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand.
Here, I aim to offer more than just academic support. I help young people build resilience, find motivation, and develop the tools they need to thrive — both in school and in life.
Work in Progress
At present, I am undertaking L2 & L3 Counselling Skills, which will enable me to get closer to becoming a qualified counsellor and therapist. I am training in a person-centred, humanist approach to therapy which places the client at the heart of the work and empowers them to explore their thoughts, feelings and needs in a safe and nurturing environment.
Combined with my ten years of pastoral experience in schools, I hope to be able to continue supporting young people as well as expanding to work with adults in a variety of contexts: from changing jobs to supporting sick or elderly relatives; from relationship difficulties to understanding past experiences.
I can currently offer limited support as a Trainee Counsellor. I abide by the ethical framework established by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
